Bank Teller

Austin Capital Bank is seeking an exemplary individual to join the bank’s retail team as a Customer Service Representative (Teller).

The Customer Service Representative (CSR) provides superior and quality customer service. The CSR provides customers efficient and accurate transaction processing and recognizing selling and referral opportunities of the bank’s products and services. The CSR will also open new accounts and assist customers with queries concerning financial institution services. This position is responsible for maintaining existing relationships and assisting with developing new relationships.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Processing deposits, withdrawals, transfers and loan payments
  • Sale of cashier’s checks
  • Places holds on accounts
  • Counts, checks and packages coins and currency
  • Balances cash drawer at the end of the shift and compares totaled amounts to computer-generated proof sheet. Reports any discrepancies to the supervisor as necessary.
  • Ensures teller station is properly stocked with forms, supplies, etc.
  • Responsible for checking night depository bags and recording proper information on the financial institution’s forms
  • Promote and maintain positive relations with all contacts, customers, and potential customers
  • Comply with all department and company policies and procedures
  • Contribute to the fulfillment of department and company objectives and goals
  • Perform as a team member in allocating and coordinating the work flow
  • May train new employees and answer co-worker questions
  • Will be involved in ordering, receiving verifying, and distributing cash
  • May be responsible for bank opening/closing
  • Opens new accounts
  • Open and close vault
  • Promotes the bank’s products and services, consistently cross-sells bank products at every opportunity
  • Makes concentrated effort to solve customer issues
  • Performs related duties as assigned by supervisor

Preferred Knowledge and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two or more years of experience as a teller or in new accounts in a banking environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good understanding of financial products and services
  • Good organizational skills
  • Above average skills and knowledge in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, & Outlook

About the Opportunity

For this opportunity, you will report directly to the Assistant Operations Manager of the Bank.
